It looks like fans will not have to wait long to get a clearer picture of each mode’s file size in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Activision had confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 will be separate downloads, as some users complained about the massive file size of 2019’s Modern Warfare as a result of combining both titles. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 officially comes out on November 16, 2022, so it’s unusual for the preload to start almost a month before launch. The upcoming Warzone 2.0 is also listed as a pack for Modern Warfare 2, and it appears to be an optional download according to PlayStation Game Size. So, gamers have ample time to download them before they come out on October 28. Additional packs for MW2 include separate downloads for the multiplayer and co-op modes, with the preload for these two starting on October 21. PlayStation Game Size on Twitter confirms that players can preload Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and its Campaign Packs on October 19, a day before its release date of October 20. Call of Duty games are somewhat infamous for their massive file sizes, so it may take some users an extremely long time to finish downloading Modern Warfare 2. PS5 lets users preload a game in preparation for its release at midnight local time, typically beginning 48 hours before the scheduled launch date so that players have enough time to download the full game. This allows gamers to play Modern Warfare 2’s campaign, and possibly finish it, before the multiplayer component launches. Modern Warfare 2 officially comes out on October 28, but fans who preorder the game can play the campaign a week early on October 20. The date preload starts for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PlayStation 5 may have been revealed.
